Surf houses

Surf spots & houses

To ensure costs stay as low as possible, the Surf Cooperative books accommodation according to the numbers for each trip, selecting one of many great houses that we have discovered over the past eighteen months. Most trips are planned for North Devon or Cornwall, where there are the most options in terms of surf breaks, but we also visit the Gower to benefit from the shorter journey to the coast.

The houses that we stay in are all next to the UK’s best surf spots (and pubs), and are all very cosy, which works well after refreshing dips in UK waters. There are usually quite flexible room options, and members can pay a little extra to have more privacy, or pay a little less to rub shoulders with other surf comrades.

To give you an idea of the types of places that we stay in, here are a couple of our favourite locations:

The Chapel, Crantock, Cornwall

The Chapel in Crantock is a beautiful property, owned by close friends, within easy walking distance of a beach that has waves for all surfing abilities depending on tide times and within a short drive of Fistral, Lusty Glaze, and Watergate Bay (amongst others).

The Farmers Arms, Llanmadoc, The Gower

The Farmers Arms in Llanmadoc has lots of space for everyone and large sofas set around wood-burning stoves. Just three-and-a-half hours from London, and ten minutes drive from Llangennith or Broughton, it’s a great location for a speedy getaway.
