It’s a little way from London to the west coast but it’s worth it. As soon as you wake up on Saturday morning and go for a surf check with a mug of coffee in your hand, everything gains a little perspective and life starts to make a bit more sense.
There are usually three or four cars traveling down to the coast for each trip, and members are generally eager to share the cost of petrol for the journey.
If you would like to come for a Surf Cooperative trip but don’t have a car, the Surf Cooperative will do its best to put you in touch with someone who has a space in their car, or with other members who can share a car rental with you. HOWEVER, a space in a car share is not guaranteed and members need to take responsibility for their own transport to the cost.
When accepting a car share, members should expect to travel to wherever the driver leaves from, and it may not be possible for you to take your surfboard (if you have one).
Just to recap, the Surf Cooperative cannot guarantee car shares so if you are reliant on a lift, then it might be worth recruiting a friend with a car!
